A bird’s eye view of the Royal Albatross in full flight is an awesome and rewarding experience enjoyed by over 150,000 visitors to Dunedin every year. Imagine … a huge Royal Albatross with a three-metre wing-span gliding overhead within metres of where you are standing! Richdale Observatory at Taiaroa Head, a comfortable 50 minutes’ scenic drive from the Dunedin city centre, is the only mainland colony of Northern Royal Albatross in the world. Guided tours daily.
