The Kauri Museum features outstanding displays about the magnificent Kauri tree and New Zealand’s pioneer settlers. Highlights include a turning steam sawmill display, a huge 22.5-metre-long Kauri slab, the largest collection of Kauri gum in the world, lifelike mannequins, and a fantastic collection of antique Kauri furniture. The Museum Shop offers a superb selection of Kauri products. Cafés and accommodation are located nearby.
