Waiau Downs Farm Adventures
Waiau Downs is a 1000 acre sheep farm that has 5000 sheep, 20 cattle, 20 Wapati deer, six farm dogs, a horse, a donkey, a pet pig, hens, pet lambs, and a friendly Labrador dog. Our friendly staff will ensure you have a great time at Waiau Downs.
Farm Tour
Transport in a 4WD vehicle with personalised commentary. Be involved with
the movement of up to 5000 sheep. You will be able to pat the pet deer in
the paddock with other deer. A chance to ride a horse or a donkey. Farm
dogs in action. Cows being milked. Feeding pet lambs. Sheep shearing and
wool handling - have a go at sheep shearing yourself. Free tea or coffee
included. The tour takes about two hours, but we can arrange a time that
suits your travel plans. Protective clothing is available (gumboots coats,
etc.) Adult $45, child $10
Mini Tour
Dogs working, sheep shearing have a go yourself. The tours takes about
one hour. Adult $20, child $5
