Aigantighe Art Museum

Visit the home of the South Island’s third largest public art museum. It was established in 1956 in the house called Aigantighe (pronounced 'egg and tie') which in Scottish Gaelic means 'at home'.

This unique art museum holds New Zealand, Asian, Pacific and European art works from the sixteenth century to the present day including paintings by Frances Hodgkins, C.F Goldie and Colin McCahon.
