Frogz Whitewater Sledging
Since 1991, Frogz Have More Fun has been operating White Water Sledging trips out of Wanaka and Queenstown. We operate on the Roaring Meg and Dogleg sections of the mighty Kawarau River, a high-volume 5km section of grade 1 - 4 white water that provides a perfect mix of safety and thrills for a whitewater sledging trip.
Featurs of the trip include:
- 1.5 hours of whitewater sledging
- Purpose-built plastic sledges
- 5ml Long John jacket and wetsuit combinations
- Comprehensive pre-trip instructions, and demonstrations on manoeuvring your sledge and reading the river.
- Transport to and from Wanaka or Queenstown (or meet us in the middle at our Roaring Meg base).
- Local gold rush and Maori history.
- Drinks, chocolate, muesli bars and local fresh fruit. Optional cliff jump.
We believe whitewater sledging offers the best view of a high-volume river like the Kawarau. 'A Frogz Eye View' of big rapids and the feeling of controlling your own course through one of New Zealand’s premier alpine rivers gives our customers an experience not to be forgotten.
We supply: all the specialist river clothing and equipment, courtesy transport, full professional instruction and refreshments. Please bring: your swimsuit, towel and an adventurous attitude!
