Golden Downs Lodge & Nelson Wilderness Guiding
A unique experience. Situated 50 km south of Nelson, the Lodge is a secluded retreat offering friendly and relaxed hospitality.
Our specialty is the meals we serve, crafted from produce we have grown ourselves. The Lodge, an old village hall, has three bedrooms, each with private bathroom. It is located in a parkland of trees and lawns. We also offer guiding services in the wilderness areas of the region. We hold a DoC concession to take single and multi-day hiking trips into Kahurangi and Nelson Lakes National Parks.
As guides, our philosophy is that we are interpreters. Whether it be flora or fauna, geology or history, it is the detail and texture of our region that we enjoy introducing people to. We encourage small groups and customised itineraries.
