Lake Rotorua Lodge
Lake Rotoroa Lodge is a truly magnificent 1920s wooden, two-storey building with ten rooms refurbished to retain the ambience of the era, all with en suites. The outlook from the Lodge over Lake Rotoroa and towards the towering Travers mountain range is spectacular. Brown trout fly-fishing is probably the best on offer anywhere in the world. Other activities include horse trekking, white water rafting, gold panning, craft shopping, golf or a leisurely wine trail. On-site helicopter for heli-fishing, scenic flights and heli-hiking. 1 hour 20 mins from Nelson airport or 1 hour 30 mins from the Marlborough wine district and Blenheim airport. Season runs from 1 Oct to 30 April. Price on DBB basis.
