Waitomo Adventures Ltd operates a range of real adventures for people wanting safe, quality fun in New Zealand’s special underground places. If you enjoy unspoilt nature on her own terms, if you want a safe, challenging experience – both unique and rewarding, and if you enjoy a good laugh, then these adventures are for you. All equipment including footwear and high guide ratio supplied. You need only a swimsuit and towel for the wet trips or loose casual clothing for the dry trips.

TumuTumu TOObing – Wet
- Duration: 4 hours.
- Restrictions: Minimum age 12 years, minimum weight 40 kg.
‘Blackwater rafting at its best!’ With two hours actually spent underground. Walking, wading, swimming and tubing underground. Fantastic glow-worms!

Haggas Honking Holes – Wet
- Duration: 4 hours.
- Restrictions: Minimum age 15 years.
Extremely concentrated action – like Indiana Jones abseiling in a washing machine. Includes four abseils, mostly in waterfalls underground. Glow-worms.

Lost World Four-hour Trip – Dry
- Duration: 4 hours.
- Restrictions: Minimum age 10 years, minimum weight 40 kg.
Abseil 100 metres into this unique and spectacular chasm alongside your instructor – who, although on a separate rope, is tethered across to the client as a safety backup, followed by dry caving trip back to surface. Includes a 30-metre steel ladder climb. See why Tom Cruise did it three times! Glow-worms.

Lost World All Day Epic Trip – Wet
- Duration: 7 – 8 hours.
- Restrictions: Minimum age 15 years.
‘The Ultimate’. Participants abseil 100 metres into the ‘Lost World’, as per four-hour trip (above). This time, however, they wear wetsuits and swim, wade and climb all day on an underground river journey through massive passages to the surface. Includes a full lunch and evening BBQ. Fantastic glow-worms and all manner of cave formations, fossils, optional challenges and fun. An empowering experience.

St Benedict’s Caverns – Dry
- Duration: 3 hours.
- Restrictions: Minimum age 12 years.
New Zealand’s prettiest adventure cave. Exciting, beautiful, challenging, but surprisingly gentle. This trip includes abseiling a total of 65 metres in two parts, zipping down an underground flying fox, walking and scrambling through the prettiest piece of known cave in New Zealand. Suits a wide range of people. See the rock that Billy Connolly licked!
