Encounter Kaikoura
Encounter Kaikoura is a brand-new complex incorporating, in one venue, the operating base for Dolphin Encounter and Albatross Encounter, a café, gallery and retail store, and conference facilities on a well-designed site.
Dolphin Encounter: Tours to swim with or watch the dusky dolphins which frequent the Kaikoura Coast. Advance bookings are essential, particularly for swimming, as capacity is limited.
Albatross Encounter: Kaikoura has been described as the albatross capital of the world. This tour by boat includes an informative on-board commentary and stunning opportunities to photograph this bird species up close.
Café Encounter: The beachfront location is a perfect setting for pre- and post-tour meals accompanied by fine coffee.
Retail and Gallery: A great range of New Zealand-made goods and clothing, photographic prints and much more is on hand to complete your Encounter Kaikoura experience.
Conference and Meeting Venue: Two venues within the complex are available with capacity of up to 70 people.
