Arriving in New Zealand: When arriving in New Zealand, visitors might have items that could be carrying pests and diseases. These could damage New Zealand’s environment and economy.

Everyone must:

1. Correctly complete the Passenger Arrival Card. Biosecurity risk goods* must be declared – failure to declare risk goods could lead to a NZ$400 instant fine or prosecution.

2. Dispose of any risk goods not declared in the amnesty bins.

3. Present the Passenger Arrival Card to a biosecurity inspector. Risk goods may be inspected. Declare or Dispose. It is New Zealand law.

*Biosecurity risk goods include food (fruit and vegetables, any meat, fish and poultry, ingredients used in cooking, and all dairy products), plants, wooden items, seeds, animal products, traditional/herbal medicines, and outdoor or sports equipment.
