
Visitors to Archives New Zealand’s Wellington office can experience the nation’s heritage and culture. The original 1840 Treaty of Waitangi, modern New Zealand’s founding document, and the 1893 Women’s Suffrage Petition are on display in the Constitution Room. Special exhibitions featuring art and artefacts from the archives are also on show. The Reading Room is open for research and information. Entry is free and there is a cafeteria on site.
Operating hours: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm, Saturday 9am – 1pm (exhibitions only). Duration: Allow 30 – 60 minutes per visit.
